DESCRIPTION:Attn: Coast Guard Academy Scholar (CGAS) families: \nMMI welcomes families of CGAS to visit their cadets on campus Friday Aug. 3 through Sunday Aug. 5. \n  \nFriday\, August 3:  \n4:00- 8:00 pm – Off-Campus dinner leave \nSaturday\, August 4:  \n9:00- 11:00 am – Historic Marion Tour. The tour will begin at 9:00 am at the MMI Chapel and will visit 3-4 historic sites in Marion\, including Reverie\, Siloam Baptist Church\, and the Perry County Historic Museum. \n1:00- 3:00 pm – Marion Civil Rights Trail Tour. The tour will begin at the MMI Chapel at 1:00 pm. \n3:00 -4:00 pm – Coast Guard Day 2018 celebration in the QM. Coast Guard Scholars\, family and friends\, and MMI faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Cake and drinks will be served. Coast Guard Day is celebrated on August 4th. This observance commemorates the 228th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Revenue-Marine in 1790. \nOvernight leave will be granted on Saturday night. All cadets need to be back Sunday\, August 5 by 6:00 pm. We ask that cadets sign in/out at the Guard House for accountability. \n  \nWe look forward to having some of our CGAS families on campus to spend time with their sons and daughters.

SUMMARY:Cresting Ceremony and Parade
DESCRIPTION:The fall 2018 Cresting Ceremony will be held on Friday\, August 31\, 2018. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 pm in the Ireland Athletic Center immediately followed by a parade. Family and friends of cadets are welcome to attend. \nCadets are free to leave for the Labor Day weekend after the lowering of the colors on Friday afternoon (immediately after the parade) and should return to campus on Monday\, September 3 by 6:00 pm (student athletes must verify their schedule with coaches).
